My coax toner died mid job in Columbus and a $7 fix saved the day
Halfway through a 12 outlet new build in Columbus last Wednesday my toner just quit on me. No beep, no light, nothing, and I had 9 runs left to label. I popped it open in the truck, and the little 9 volt clip had snapped clean off the board. Soldered a spare clip I keep in my junk drawer, and it fired right back up. Has anyone else had a toner clip go bad, or am I the only one hoarding dead ones for parts?
Kept a whole coffee can of dead toners in the shop for exactly this, because that clip is almost always what goes and the rest of the board is still fine. Saves you from eating the cost of a new unit every time the plastic gets brittle and snaps.
