That crimping tool I bought off a truck cost me a whole Saturday
I picked up a cheap crimper from a guy selling out of his van for $15 back in April. First two jobs went fine but on the third one, it stripped the jacket uneven and I had to re-terminate 6 drops. Wasted about 4 hours redoing connections and driving back to a supply house for a real tool. Has anyone else gotten burned by discount hardware like that?

A whole Saturday" sounds about right for a truck tool.

Used to think truck tools were overkill but you make a good point. What do you keep in yours?

Not gonna lie, "a whole Saturday" hits a little too close to home (I've definitely lost more than a few weekends to "quick" truck projects). It's like the truck knows when you've got plans and decides to make you earn that tool storage space. You start with one simple thing, and suddenly you're three trips to the hardware store deep wondering where your whole day went.
But hey, at least the truck is set up right after (until the next thing breaks, obviously).
