The drum tester I almost tossed in the dumpster
Picked up a used drum tester at an auction in Dayton last spring for $60. I figured it was junk since the previous owner said it kept giving false readings on coax runs. Spent a whole afternoon cleaning the connectors and recalibrating it myself with a known good cable. Turns out the issue was just a worn ground lug, swapped that out for $3 at a local parts shop. Now it's my go to for verifying 200 foot drops before I climb the pole. Anyone else ever revive a cheap tool everyone else wrote off?
