Took a foreman's advice on fiber bends and it saved my Tuesday

My foreman kept telling me to use a 2 inch minimum radius on fiber pulls at the Meridian job site, and I figured he was just being picky about something that never mattered. Then I had a 12 strand drop that kept failing the light test after I coiled it tight in the enclosure, and he made me redo it with proper slack. Has anyone else had a boss push a spec that seemed dumb until it bit you on a callback?

Man, that hits home. @the_elliot is onto something, my old foreman had the same habit. He’d bark about barrel wraps on cat6 like it was the end of the world, and I’d roll my eyes every time. Then we got a call back on a building where the patch cables looked fine but kept dropping packets. Turned out my tight wrap near the jack was the culprit, just like he said. It’s annoying when they’re right, but now I just do the extra loop and move on. Saves me the headache of a second trip, even if I gotta hear him say “told you so” in my head.
