A $250 digital microscope was a game changer for my bench work

I finally bought a Plugable USB digital scope after years of using a loupe. The cost hurt at first, but being able to see shutter mechanisms and tiny screws on a big screen has cut my repair time in half on small items like old Leica rangefinders. It paid for itself in a month. What other tools have you all bought that felt expensive but ended up being worth every penny?

Check your math on that cost recovery timeline.

My cheap loupe and I are having a serious talk right now.

Eighty bucks for tweezers, @logan_murphy? That's wild.

Totally get that feeling. I fought getting a good pair of self-centering tweezers for way too long. Finally spent like eighty bucks on a pair from a proper tool supplier and it was a night and day difference. No more chasing tiny screws across the bench or dropping parts because my cheap tweezers slipped. The time and frustration they save on every single repair makes the cost seem silly now.
