Appreciation post: my old 1970s Seagull TLR that came back to life after 30 years in a basement
Last month I finally opened up that crusty Seagull from a estate sale near Buffalo, replaced the rotted foam and sticky shutter blades, and the first test roll came back sharper than my digital from 3 years ago, has anyone else had a beat up old TLR surprise them like that?

My buddy Paul found a beat up Yashica-Mat at a garage sale in Rochester. The lens had fungus and the winding knob was stuck solid. He spent a whole weekend cleaning it with alcohol and a toothpick, and when he finally ran a roll through it, the shots of his kid at the park came out looking like they were taken yesterday. That old glass just holds onto something special.

Three rolls in, and I bet half were blurry anyway.

Funny you mention that, I had an old Minolta with a sticky shutter that still managed to nail some of my best shots.
