Finally got a K1000 shutter timing issue sorted after picking between two cap types
My repair on a Pentax K1000 was stuck because the original shutter timing cap was cracked, and I had to choose between a ceramic disc and a tantalum replacement. I went with the tantalum because it had tighter tolerance specs for the timing circuit. Anyone else run into problems with ceramics drifting after a few test fires?

Oh man, I've had ceramics go totally wonky after like ten frames, drove me nuts till I switched to tantalum too.

@robins83 yeah ceramics can be finicky for sure. but ten frames is like crazy low even for bad ceramics, mighta been a batch issue or something.
tantalum's def more chill though, no arguing that.
