Hot take: I think the tiny screwdrivers from that cheap kit I bought are actually bending

I was trying to adjust the shutter on a Minolta X-700 last week and the tip on the 1.5mm just gave out, lol. Anyone have a go-to brand for small precision drivers that won't warp?

Cheap drivers are basically soft metal sticks. @reese_bennett25 nailed it about good tools biting in, that solid feel is everything. Don't waste time on bendy junk.

Oh man, that's the worst. Been there with those little blue kits from the big box store, felt like I was trying to turn a screw with a piece of licorice. If you're working on something nice like that Minolta, it's worth getting a decent set. I've had good luck with Wiha or iFixit drivers for the small stuff, they don't seem to flex in your hand.

Yeah the "piece of licorice" feeling is so real lol. I cheaped out once and the driver tip just twisted right off, left the screw totally stuck. Good tools just feel solid in a way that saves so much headache.

Totally agree about the licorice feeling, it makes you feel like you're going to break the whole project. I had a cheap screwdriver round off a tiny screw on an old radio and it was a nightmare to fix. Good tools just bite into the screw head with no wiggle, so you're only turning the screw and not fighting the tool itself. That solid feel tells you exactly what's happening in your hand. It's the difference between fixing something and making a bigger problem.
