Serious question, did a 1978 Canon AE-1 with a jammed shutter really bring in $400 in one afternoon?

Last Tuesday I cleared four jobs off the bench, including a Pentax K1000 with a cracked mirror bumper, and every single one was a camera the owner bought at a yard sale for under $20, so I want to know if you all are seeing the same flood of cheap film bodies or if my little shop in Akron just got lucky that day.
