That $75 JIS screwdriver set fixed the stripped screws on a Nikon F3 I almost scrapped
I used to think cheap precision drivers from the hardware store were fine for camera work, mostly because spending $75 on a set felt dumb when a $12 kit does the same thing. Then a customer brought in an F3 with screws so chewed up I could not get the top plate off, and my old kit just spun and made it worse. I ordered a proper JIS set from a shop in Osaka, waited 9 days for shipping, and every single screw came out clean on the first try. Turns out the cheap ones were Phillips and never actually fit Japanese camera screws, so I was stripping metal for 3 years without knowing it. Now the set lives in my bench drawer and I have not had a single stripped head since. What brand of JIS drivers are you all running, because I want a backup set before mine wear out.
