Warning: I had to pick between a cheap lens replacement or a full camera rebuild for a client's old Nikon
They wanted the lens fixed for $50, but the mirror box was also cracked. I went with the lens job to keep them happy, and of course they came back a week later mad about the shutter. What would you have done first?

Wait, the cracked mirror was the original problem? I thought they were just mad about the repair cost, not that the whole thing was already broken. That's wild.

Ugh, this is why you never do the cheap fix to avoid an argument. People only hear the price they want, not the actual problem. Now you're the bad guy twice.
