Blew out my camp stove regulator at 9,000 feet in Colorado last month
I was trying to cook dinner after a long hike near Leadville and the flame started sputtering then just died. Turned out the regulator froze up from the propane tank being too cold and me not keeping it insulated. Has anyone found a good way to keep a propane tank warm in freezing temps without buying a heated blanket?

Put your tank in a bowl of lukewarm water, works every time.

That lukewarm water trick saved my last tank, seriously. @williams.sage is right though, sometimes the fix is right in front of us but we overthink it. I spent an hour trying to warm up my coil with a hairdryer before remembering the bowl trick a buddy told me years ago. Water just has to be warm to the touch, not hot at all, you know? Even ten minutes in there will get things flowing again if you've got a clog or thick oil. Just pat it dry after and you're good to go.
