Can we talk about how heavy cheap camp stoves actually are?
I always thought my old Coleman was fine till I weighed it at 4.8 pounds after a 6 mile hike. Found a post on a backpacking forum breaking down the grams on different models and it totally flipped my view on what counts as ultralight gear. Has anyone else checked their stove weight and been surprised?

Does your back count the weight differently after mile 10 though?

Honestly, "does your back count the weight differently" is the wildest thing I've read today. Like, your spine's not a digital scale that recalculates per mile. Half a pound is half a pound no matter where you are on the trail. I get that fatigue messes with your perception, but your back doesn't suddenly start doing calculus at mile 10. That's just your brain playing tricks on you because you're tired and sore. Ngl, I've had moments where I swore my pack gained ten pounds after a big climb, but that's all in my head.
