Dropped $340 on a down bag rated for 15 degrees, froze my tail off at 38 in the Smokies
The tag said 15 but I was shivering in a base layer and fleece at Elkmont in October. When I called the company they said the rating assumes you're wearing a full puffy and eating 4000 calories a day, which nobody put on the box. What temp do you all actually trust your bags down to?

Nobody put on the box" is on you, ratings always assume layers.
