Finally found the perfect camp chair after 3 years of trying cheap ones

I bought one of those $30 folding chairs from Target last month for a weekend trip up to Lake Tahoe, and it sank into the dirt the first night, no joke. Then I tried my buddy's fancy chair he got from REI a few years back, and it was way sturdier with these wide feet that don't dig in. So last week I bit the bullet and spent $80 on a similar one with a cup holder and a side table built in. It survived a whole rainy weekend without rusting or tipping over, which is more than I can say for the last three chairs I owned. Honestly, I should have just paid up from the start instead of thinking I could get away with the clearance stuff. Has anyone else found that spending a little more on camp chairs actually saves money in the long run?

Yeah so I had basically the same thing happen but with coolers. I kept buying those cheap styrofoam ones from the gas station and they'd fall apart after like two trips. Last summer I finally caved and got a rotomolded one for like $200 and it kept ice for three days straight in the Arizona heat. Then a chipmunk chewed through the drain plug the second time I used it and I had to spend another $15 on a replacement part. So I guess my point is even the expensive stuff finds new ways to fail on you eventually.

Man that chipmunk part got me. I swear animals have a sixth sense for finding the one weak spot on anything expensive you buy. Three days of ice in Arizona heat is no joke though, those rotomolded ones really do work. But yeah its like the universe balances it out. You save money on not buying ice every weekend but then a little rodent comes along and reminds you nothing is perfect. At least the replacement part was only 15 bucks, could have been worse. Still annoying as hell though.
