Freak weather aside, what did you end up using to patch the tent?

Actually, Crater Lake gets almost no rain in the summer. That must have been some freak weather.

Yeah "freak weather" is my middle name, I have a talent for bringing the weird storms with me.

Honestly I'd be more worried about the wind than the rain. A broken zipper in a storm is basically an invitation for your tent to turn into a kite.
