That cheap sleeping pad I bought on Amazon leaked air after 2 nights
Bought a $25 sleeping pad off Amazon for a 4 day trip in Shenandoah. By night 2 I was waking up on the ground with my hip digging into rocks. Anyone know a good way to patch these things or should I just toss it?

Oh man, is a slightly leaky pad really worth all this hand-wringing? I mean yeah that sucks waking up on the ground but you got what you paid for, right? For 25 bucks you probably could have just brought a yoga mat and some cardboard and had the same experience (or maybe not, I don't know). Honestly I'd just toss it and call it a lesson learned, or maybe try duct tape if you're feeling ambitious. It's not like you're on some serious expedition, it's Shenandoah in summer (full of families and day hikers).

Figure out how you sleep before you decide the pad is the whole problem. Some folks are side sleepers and need way more cushion than what a cheap pad can give, even if it held air fine. Your mileage may vary, but I've known people to be comfy on a leaky pad if they pair it with a layer of pine needles or leaves underneath.
