Unpopular opinion: my $300 ultralight tent poles snapped in a mild Colorado breeze last month, and I had to use my emergency blanket as a makeshift shelter.
Has anyone else had a high-end piece of gear fail spectacularly under what should have been normal conditions?

Right? My "weatherproof" $250 jacket soaked through in a drizzle. Felt like I was wearing a trash bag.
