Can we talk about how James Charles got more slack than Shane Dawson over shady stuff?

I remember when James Charles got dropped by Morphe after the Tati drama in 2019. He lost millions of followers overnight. But Shane Dawson literally had old videos with blackface and weird jokes about kids, and he just kind of faded out quietly. Nobody really pushed for brands to cut ties with him the same way. James ended up coming back and still has a career, while Shane just sits on his channel doing nothing. Why do you think one got the full cancel treatment and the other got to slink away?

Brands don't move fast unless they see profit walking out the door.

Totally agree with you there. It's rough because sometimes it takes a big public backlash before companies finally listen and make a change. Wish it didn't have to come to that point, you know?
