Hit 600 followers on my art account before I got canceled over a dumb sketch
I run a small art page on Instagram where I post sketches of local buildings in Portland. I drew a cartoon of a city council member with a slightly too long nose and people said it was "harmful caricature." Now I'm at 200 followers and wondering if I should apologize or just delete the whole account.

Honestly the best art advice I ever got was that if you're not pissing someone off you're probably playing it too safe. That Portland building stuff sounds cool, maybe just own the doodle and let the drama blow over while you keep posting what you actually like drawing.

That "harmful caricature" thing is wild, people really forget that cartoons are supposed to exaggerate features sometimes. Honestly I'd just post a quick "sorry if you took it wrong, just a dumb doodle" and move on, most folks will forget in a week anyway. If you delete the whole account those 200 people actually following for your Portland building sketches are the ones who lose out.

Read a blogger say caricatures have been around for centuries and nobody used to overthink them...
