I used to think canceling celebrities was always too harsh until a former fan told me about the behind the scenes stuff at a local coffee shop
After hearing how the comedian I defended actually treated crew members for 5 years straight, I realized the canceled label fit better than I wanted to admit, has anyone else had their opinion flipped by hearing direct stories from people who were there?

Is it possible that some of those stories get twisted by the people telling them though? Like I’ve seen ex-employees who got fired exaggerate stuff to make themselves look better or get back at the person. Not saying all stories are fake, but it makes me wonder how many of these "canceled" celebs are actually bad vs just having one bad day that got blown up by someone with an agenda.

Oh sure, because who hasn't had a perfect stranger blow up their entire life over a "misunderstanding"? It's not like people ever lie for attention or revenge or anything. But yeah, let's pretend every single story is 100% fact-checked by the court of public opinion before it goes viral. I guess we're all just supposed to take every accusation at face value and never question the timing or the motive. Right.

Totally agree with @piperbailey. It's like people forget that some folks straight up lie or exaggerate to ruin someone just because they can.
