My worst work week came when I had three clients back out of deals in the same Thursday afternoon last spring.
Each one canceled for totally different reasons - one lost financing, another found a leak in the inspection, and the third just got cold feet - and I ended up sitting in my car for 20 minutes wondering if I should just switch careers. Has anyone else had a single day where everything fell apart at once?

Did you read that study about how most business people hit a crisis point around year 3-5? Sounds like you were right in that danger zone.

That three-year wall is real, and @anderson.piper's cousin shows why you need to schedule real breaks before year 3 hits, not after the mulch meltdown. A solid support system and a backup plan (even just a list of mentors) can keep you from hitting that floor.

My cousin actually had a breakdown at year 4 of his landscaping business. Right in the middle of a client meeting, he just started crying about mulch. It was wild but also not that surprising when you think about how long small business owners grind without a break. Did you hit that point too or did you sneak past it?
