That cashier at Walmart called me out on my own cancel habit

I was checking out in line at the Walmart on 5th Street last Tuesday and this older cashier looked at my copy of some self-help book. She goes 'you know half the people who bought that are now cancelled for something they said five years ago.' It hit me how quick we are to write off strangers based on one mistake and she was just ringing up groceries like it was nothing. Made me wonder how many people I dismissed that really just messed up once and grew from it. Anyone else get a reality check from the most random person?

Yeah that's deep. We're way too quick to judge.

@the_linda maybe that cashier's Jedi mind trick was just charging more for wisdom than a self-help book.

Man, that cashier was like a wise old Jedi or something. Makes you wonder if the whole cancel thing is just a way to feel better about our own screw ups we never had to own up to.
