That James Charles situation from 2021 still bugs me how people handled it
I remember watching the whole Tati Westbrook and James Charles drama go down back in 2019, but the 2021 stuff with him got way messier. A guy I worked with at the pizza shop in Dallas swore up and down that the tweets people dug up were proof enough to cancel him forever. But like, half those screenshots were either taken out of context or from accounts that later got shut down for spreading fake stuff. I read through a bunch of the evidence myself over three nights and found maybe 2 things that actually looked bad. It felt less about what he did and more about mob energy taking over, you know? Has anyone else gone back and looked at the actual receipts from that time and felt confused about what really happened?

Did your buddy ever figure out where the original drama even started from?

My buddy from high school actually went down that rabbit hole during a slow shift at his warehouse job. He spent like two whole days cross-referencing every screenshot with the original tweet dates and user handles. He found that most of the "receipts" were from parody accounts or had timestamps that didn't match the accusations at all. He said the real smoking gun stuff was maybe 3 tweets total, and even those were pretty mild compared to what the mob made them out to be. End of the day he told me it felt less like justice and more like people just wanted someone to pile on.
