Was totally sure those expensive noise-cancelling headphones were a gimmick til I tried them on a flight to Chicago last month.

I put them on during takeoff and suddenly the crying baby three rows back just vanished lol. Like gone, poof, couldn't hear a thing. Has anyone else had a product they mocked turn out to be legit?

And the funny thing is I used to make fun of people wearing big over-ear headphones on planes, now I'm that person lol. Took mine on a bus ride with a bunch of loud teenagers and it was like I was sitting in a quiet library instead. It's wild how something so simple can completely change your travel experience, I'll never go back to regular earbuds again.

Did you end up getting noise canceling or just the regular closed back kind? My first pair was just passive isolation and it still blocked out enough chatter to make a difference. People don't realize how much background noise wears you down until you take it away.
