Appreciation post: the Monday we pulled up to a job site in Phoenix and the homeowner had prepped every room perfectly

We cleared a 2,300 square foot house with three bedrooms and a living room in under 6 hours because the guy had moved all his furniture, pulled up the old carpet corners, and even marked the seams he wanted us to avoid, has anyone else ever had a customer actually make your day easier like that?

Did he actually pull up carpet corners or just cut them loose?

Good question. I'd want to know if there were any staples or tack strips left behind after he pulled those corners. Pulling carpet corners properly means you gotta get under that pad too, not just yank the carpet out. Did he actually take the time to pull up the old pad and strip everything clean, or did he just peel the top layer and call it done?

Did @rubyk26 actually check for tack strips underneath? I've seen homeowners pull carpet corners and leave the old pad and tack strips for us to deal with. If he went as far as marking seams he wanted you to avoid, I bet he probably pulled the whole thing clean and even busted out the pliers on those staples. That kind of prep is rare but when it happens you can just roll right through the job. Saves a ton of time on labor and cleanup too. A little effort on their part really pays off.
