Hit 5000 square feet in a single day last Tuesday. Didnt think it was possible.

Me and my helper laid 5000 sq ft of commercial carpet in a school gym. New record for us by a long shot. Anyone else ever hit a crazy number like that and surprise yourself?

Gotta call BS a little. 5000 feet with just one helper? That's like 600+ yards. Unless you guys were running the whole time and skipped lunch, seams gotta look rough. No way it's holding up after a few weeks of kids dragging chairs across it.

Yeah exactly, even with perfect seams that much carpet is gonna be rippling within a month.

Hold up, I gotta ask - what kind of helper did you have that was worth a damn? In my experience, finding someone who can actually work a power stretcher and not just stand around holding the tape is like finding a needle in a haystack. Most of the guys I've seen just want to tack strip and pray, then they're shocked when the carpet starts bunching up at the doorways within two weeks. Were you paying this guy a proper wage or did you get lucky with a friend who knew what they were doing?
