Hot take: I started using a 6-inch drywall knife to smooth seam sealer and everyone on the crew called me crazy.
After three botched seams in a row on a commercial job in Boise, I grabbed one from my truck and got a perfectly flat, invisible transition on the first try.

Totally not crazy. That extra reach makes all the difference.

That 6-inch knife trick saved my butt on a Reno remodel last year. The extra length gives you way more control over the final feathering step. They'll stop calling you crazy when they see the finished walls.

My uncle's been drywalling for 30 years and swears by a 4-inch for that step. Is the extra two inches really a game changer?
