Hot take: I started using a 6-inch drywall knife to smooth seam sealer and everyone on the crew called me crazy.

After three botched seams in a row on a commercial job in Boise, I grabbed one from my truck and got a perfectly flat, invisible transition on the first try.

That 6-inch knife trick saved my butt on a Reno remodel last year. The extra length gives you way more control over the final feathering step. They'll stop calling you crazy when they see the finished walls.
