Just noticed more homeowners asking for pet-proof carpet

In recent months, almost every house job I do involves this specific need. Clients bring it up right when we discuss the estimate details. I feel good because I worked on my seam sealing method for these carpets. Now I see the results lasting, which is a nice personal win.

In Austin, shelters mention older adopted pets often have bladder issues. Your seam sealing method probably stops a lot of damage from that.

But how common is this really? hayden_rivera mentioned more adoptions, but that doesn't mean every pet wrecks floors. My cousin's rescue had a few accidents, but clean-up was easy with basic mats. Calling it total ruin feels like a stretch.

Honestly, I read an article recently about this. It said there was a big jump in pet adoption over the last few years, so way more people are dealing with this now. They were talking about how the demand for stuff like stain-resistant carpet and vinyl flooring has gone way up. Makes total sense with what you're seeing.

Are we talking about a few accidents or full-on pet bathroom demolition projects? After what @christopher_torres66 said, I'm picturing homes where the carpet is basically a lost cause from day one. Like, you'd need a floor made of sealed concrete and topped with boat vinyl just to survive. It's wild that a good seam is the only thing standing between a clean floor and total ruin. Your method must be saving people's security deposits left and right.
