Just switched from a kicker to a power stretcher on a 12x15 room

I've been using a knee kicker for like 5 years now and figured it was fine... but last week I had a 12x15 living room with this cheap berber carpet and it just wouldn't lay flat no matter what. Borrowed my buddy's power stretcher and holy cow the difference was night and day. No ripples, no re-stretching, and it took me maybe half the time. Has anyone else made the switch and never looked back?

Right, because who needs proper tension when you can just blame the carpet for not cooperating? lol. I bet those "no issues" carpets were installed by elves at midnight.

A power stretcher is overkill for most small rooms and can actually damage the tack strip if you're not careful. I've done plenty of 12x15 rooms with just a knee kicker and never had issues.

Used to think a power stretcher was overkill too but after doing a 12x15 with cheap berber that wouldnt lay flat I changed my mind real quick.
