Lost $300 on a roll of carpet because I didn't check the dye lot numbers before cutting
Turns out the two rolls I bought a week apart matched perfectly in the warehouse but were completely different shades under natural light, and now I'm out the cost of the first roll plus the labor to rip it out and redo it anyone else had this issue with dye lot mismatches?

Life's biggest lessons the expensive way" is right lol. I just paid $400 for a parking ticket because I thought I could run into the bank for "just a second." Took me three minutes and I came back to a boot on my tire. Had to pay the ticket AND the boot removal fee. Never making that mistake again. But honestly the worst one was when I trusted a "friend" to co-sign on a lease. That cost me like $3,000 in damages and rent when they bailed out mid-year. Some lessons just hit your wallet hard before they actually stick, you know?
