Question about switching from knee kicker to power stretcher on a 12x15 berber last month
I always figured my knee was faster for small rooms until I tried a power stretcher on a 12x15 berber in Garland and it cut my install time from 3 hours to 1 hour 40 minutes with zero wrinkles at the walls. What convinced me was when the homeowner grabbed a corner and it didn't budge, she said "that's the tightest carpet I've ever felt." Curious if anyone else had a tool they swore off and then came back to?
That bit about the homeowner grabbing the corner says it all, tight carpet is the only proof that matters. Knee kickers have their place but a stretcher on berber is a whole different ball game. Small rooms fool you into thinking speed matters more than stretch, it doesn't.
