Remember when we used to cut everything with a hook knife? I saw a guy using a laser guide at a trade show in Atlanta back in 2015 and it blew my mind.

The hook knife was a real skill tester, wasn't it? I held onto my old ways for a while, honestly. What changed it for me was just trying one new tool at a time on a small project. I started with a digital angle finder, and getting that perfect cut without the guesswork was a game changer. It built my confidence to try the next thing, like a better saw guide. Now those fancy tools don't seem so scary, they just seem like the right tool for the job.

Right tool for the job" still means knowing the basics first, to me.

That laser guide in 2015 was just the start! It feels like the last few years have been nothing but crazy new tools. Now you see people using digital angle finders that link to their phone, or even augmented reality glasses that project a cut line right onto the material. The precision is insane compared to the old hook knife days. It makes you wonder what we'll be using in another ten years. The tech just keeps moving faster.
