Seam placement debate from my latest living room job
Hiding seams under furniture gives a cleaner finish, but some installers skip it. Where do you stand?

The seam line next to your area rug in that picture is honestly shocking. I've seen some cut corners but leaving it fully visible is next level. It makes the whole floor look cheap and uneven. Any installer worth their salt knows to tuck that under the couch or a rug. Saving five minutes on a job just screws over the homeowner big time.

Totally agree that saving five minutes screws over the homeowner. I read a trade article that called visible seams a 'permanent advertisement of a rushed job'. Once you notice a bad one, you can't unsee it. Why would anyone choose to leave such an obvious flaw in plain sight?

What pushes an installer to leave such a clear mistake out in the open? Is it pressure to finish from a boss, or just hoping the homeowner won't know any better?

That seam next to the rug is a real choice, like a modern art piece titled 'I Gave Up'. I'm with @tara642, it's a permanent reminder of a five minute rush job. You'd have to be blind or in a huge hurry to think that looks okay.
