Shoutout to the cheap knee kicker that finally gave me good seams
I used my old heavy power stretcher for years (you know, the one that feels like it weighs 40 pounds) but after I borrowed a buddy's lightweight knee kicker last Tuesday for a tricky bedroom install, everything just clicked into place. The seams came out way tighter and I didn't feel like my knee was gonna blow out by lunchtime. Has anyone else switched to a lighter tool and noticed a huge difference for small rooms?

I picked up a $30 knee kicker from the hardware store last spring for a tight laundry room job and it was night and day compared to my big power stretcher. My seams locked in cleaner because I could actually feel the carpet grab without fighting the weight of that beast. My knees thanked me the next morning and I haven't touched the heavy one since for anything under 12 by 12.

Wait, @victor779, you actually had knees that bitched before you got the cheap kicker? Mine gave up after one hallway.

Wait, you mean there's people still lugging those heavy power stretchers around? I switched to a cheap knee kicker last month and my knees haven't bitched once. That old 40 pound monster used to kill my back on hallways. Now I fly through closets with the lightweight one and my seams are actually tighter. Never going back.
