Switched to a 3/4 inch seam roller for my last three jobs and the difference is insane

I used to think any old roller would do the job, but after a buddy lent me his heavy duty one for a big office install in Phoenix, I saw the light. The seams on that 500 square yard job were flat as a board after one pass, no extra glue squeezing out. That was six months ago, and I've used it on every job since. My callbacks for seam peaking dropped from maybe one a month to zero. Why do we still sell those flimsy half inch rollers to new guys?

Flat as a board" is right, I had the same shock when I finally upgraded my roller.

Totally get that, Blair. Swore by my old one for years until it literally fell apart. The difference when I finally replaced it was insane.

Flat as a board" is exactly how I'd put it too, @cole_baker. My old roller left these little ripples along the edges, and I'd spend forever burnishing them down. Swapped to the 3/4 inch one and that problem just vanished. It's funny how something so simple fixes a headache you didn't realize you were having.
