A week with my niece turned me against unlimited tablet use

I used to think tablets were okay for keeping kids busy. Seeing my niece lose interest in everything else showed me the harm. Are we making kids who can't sit still without a screen?

That's a fair point for adults, but the post is about little kids. There's a big difference between a tablet being the only thing that holds a child's attention and an adult using Facebook to plan a fishing trip. One replaces all other play, the other just moves the chat online.

Find screens often build community where physical distance separates us. Platforms connect me to my old college friends and local hobby groups in ways coffee shops never could. Calling it a takeover ignores how it's just the modern tool for the same old human stuff.
