I always thought electric cars were worse for the environment because of the batteries

I saw a chart from the Union of Concerned Scientists last week that broke down total lifetime emissions. It showed that even with battery making, an electric car in my area becomes cleaner than a gas car after about 15,000 miles because our grid uses a lot of hydro power. I had to look it up myself because I just assumed making the battery was a total deal-breaker. Has anyone else seen data that changed their view on something like this?

That chart made me rethink everything.

Yeah, that chart probably explains why my last big plan was a total mess. My own life graph would just be a flat line that occasionally dips into "bad decisions." Makes sense now.

My chart would have a permanent "what was I thinking" zone.
