I dropped $200 on a 'professional' keyword research tool that gave me garbage data

I bought it thinking it would show me what people actually search for, but the search volumes were totally off and the suggestions were useless. It actually set my content plan back a month because I was targeting the wrong terms. Has anyone else been burned by a tool that promised better SEO insights?

Yeah exactly, it's like they just make up numbers to look smart. I tried one that said "urban beekeeping starter kits" was a goldmine, but the real searches were all just people asking if it was legal in their city, lmao. Total waste of time trying to write a product roundup.

My friend paid for a report that said "tiny home plumbing" was booming, but the actual searches were just people asking how to unclog composting toilets.

Two hundred dollars for made up numbers? That's brutal. Had a similar thing where a tool told me "artisanal firewood" got 10k monthly searches. Turns out it was more like ten people, probably all my weird uncle. You start writing about premium kindling for nothing.
