Paid $95 for a torque wrench calibration at a shop in Tulsa and it showed my 3 year old wrench was off by 9 ft lbs
I figured my click type wrench was close enough after 3 years of oil changes and brake jobs on my own trucks, but a buddy's head gasket failure got me paranoid so I dropped $95 at a calibration shop in Tulsa. Turns out it was reading 9 ft lbs heavy at 80, meaning I'd been under torquing every single lug nut and head bolt for who knows how long without a single clue. How often do you guys actually get your torque wrenches checked, or is everyone just trusting the click like I was?
