Pro tip: I finally bought an air fryer after years of hating them

For the longest time I thought air fryers were just overpriced toaster ovens that everyone hyped up for no reason. My sister kept telling me to get one for like two years and I just rolled my eyes every time. Then last month I helped her move into a new apartment and she made us dinner using her air fryer. She threw in some frozen chicken tenders and broccoli and 12 minutes later it came out crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I couldn't believe how good it was compared to baking or microwaving. So I grabbed a basic model off Amazon for $50 last week and now I've used it almost every day. Has anyone else made the switch after swearing these things off?

Are people really that passionate about a glorified mini oven though?

Gotta step in here and say it's not really a mini oven. Air fryers use a fan to blast hot air around, it's more like a tiny convection oven on steroids. That fan makes a huge difference for getting things crispy without needing a ton of oil, which is why people swear by them. You can definitely cook more than frozen fries in one too, I've done whole chickens and veggies in mine and it comes out great. Once you use one for a week you get why folks are so into them, it just changes how you cook a lot of stuff.
