PSA: My old boss said my weekly reports were 'data dumps with no point,' and it took me two tries to fix it

He told me nobody reads past the third bullet, so I cut every report from 2 pages to 5 lines with a one sentence summary at the top, and now I want to know if anyone else had to learn this the hard way.
