Spent 6 hours on a 10 minute oil change because I believed one dumb chart
Last Saturday I decided to finally change the oil on my wife's CR-V, and I trusted some torque spec chart I found online. Stripped the drain plug at 5pm, had to run to three stores in Framingham before I found a replacement. The whole job should have taken 20 minutes but I finished at 11pm, covered in oil, and my neighbor asked if I was okay. Has anyone else followed a random internet spec and had it blow up in their face?

Isn't the real problem trusting any chart without checking your owner's manual first?
