That moment a stranger at the bus stop changed how I see strangers

I was waiting for the 7:15 bus on Elm Street last Tuesday, totally zoned out on my phone. This older woman next to me just said "you know, the birds are really loud today, listen." I looked up and she was right, the whole street was full of chirping. We chatted for five minutes about her garden and she gave me a little basil clipping from her pocket, totally random. Has anyone else had a tiny interaction with a stranger that stuck with them way longer than it should have?

Ngl that sounds like a future missing persons case waiting to happen.

She carried a basil clipping in her pocket? That's either the most wholesome thing I've ever heard or the setup to some urban legend I haven't seen yet.

Lmao right? It's giving either sweet grandma energy or some straight up folklore cryptid origin story. Like is she about to bless my crops or curse my bloodline with that basil? I can't decide if I'd be flattered or freaked out if someone clipped a sprig of basil and stuck it in their pocket after meeting me. Honestly though, with the way people are acting these days, a missing persons case would probably start with a fight over who took the last of the produce.
