That week I changed my mind about fasting, thanks to a stomach bug in April
I always thought intermittent fasting was just a diet fad, but last April I got a nasty stomach bug and couldn't eat for about 36 hours. When I finally ate again, I felt super clear-headed and less bloated than usual. It made me wonder if my body actually liked the break from constant snacking. Has anyone else had a random sickness shift their whole view on something like fasting?

Sickness really does put things in perspective sometimes. Same thing happened to me last year with a bad flu, couldn't stomach anything for two days and when I finally ate, I felt weirdly sharp and not dragging. Made me realize how much I snack mindlessly just because I'm bored or stressed. Now I try to give myself longer breaks between meals without it being a whole formal fast thing. Just feels cleaner somehow.

See I had the opposite experience with that stomach bug thing. Not eating for a while just left me shaky and miserable, and when I finally ate I felt even worse because my stomach wasn't ready for it. Makes me think that whole "my body loves this" feeling is just relief from being sick, not proof fasting is actually good for you.
