Dropped a full tray of 40 seared scallops during a Saturday dinner rush

This happened about 2 months ago at The Rusty Spoon in Portland. The kitchen was slammed and I tried to grab a hot handling towel that slipped right through my fingers. The whole tray hit the floor and I had to fire 40 new scallops while my line cook helped me re-fire the rest of the order. Has anyone else had a big drop like that and how did you keep the tickets moving without losing your cool?

Wait, didn't you mean a "hot handling towel" or was it a dry cloth? Cause wet towels are a death sentence with hot pans, haha. But yeah, that sounds brutal.
