Back when a blocked flue meant a full day of poking and hoping

I was cleaning out my old truck and came across my first set of rods, all bent and worn. It got me thinking how a tough blockage used to take all day, but now with better gear, it's often done by noon. Do you ever miss the slow, careful work, or is it just me?

Remember finding my granddad's old spring steel snake in his shed. Took me years to realize why he kept it, but now I get it.

Nostalgia's fine, but I'll take the faster finish any day. Saves my back too.

Ever keep the old rods for tricky spots? I still use my bent set when new tools won't fit. Some angles are just too tight. Modern gear saves time, but old methods get the job done. I don't miss all-day fights, but knowing how to work slow has saved me.
