Cleaned a 10-year-old chimney last week that changed my view on rotary tools

I went back to a house I first serviced in 2014 and the before and after on this one flue was night and day after using a rotary whip attachment for the first time. The old manual rods just weren't cutting through the glaze and the whip broke it loose in about 20 minutes flat. Has anyone else seen a huge difference switching to a rotary setup on tough creosote jobs?

I had that exact same moment with a 5 year old flue last spring, the rotary whip turned what would have been a three hour manual job into maybe 40 minutes tops. The difference in how clean the walls came up was honestly shocking, I could actually see the terra cotta tiles for the first time in years. That little attachment is a total game changer on the heavy stuff.

@hannah400 I feel you completely, that rotary whip is a lifesaver on old flues. Nothing beats seeing the original tile for the first time after years of buildup.

Yeah @hannah400 that moment you see the tile again is just the best feeling.
