Customer said my soot cleanup was leaving a film on her windowsill
She pointed it right out after I finished, and sure enough I was overspraying the sealant. Switched to a finer mist nozzle and now I don't get that residue. Anyone else had a homeowner catch something you'd been missing?

Oh man, that's floor wax, not sealant though.

Happened to me but with a different kind of film. Customer pointed out my floor wax was leaving streaks like a ghost had been dancing across her kitchen. Felt about two inches tall watching her wipe it with her finger and just stare at me. Luckily she was nice about it and I got it fixed with a different applicator. Lesson learned - always check in weird lighting before you leave.

Isn't it wild how much of a difference the environment makes for something you think you've got totally dialed in? Like, I've noticed this pattern in all sorts of everyday stuff - the way a painting looks completely different in morning light versus evening, or how a song sounds amazing in your car but flat on your phone speaker. It's like reality has these sneaky little testing conditions we don't account for until we're already in trouble. Your story with the floor wax reminded me that there's this whole hidden layer of "weird lighting" and "wrong angle" situations we just don't think about until someone points it out with a finger swipe.
