Hit 1,000 sweeps last month and it threw me off guard
I was just adding up my logs for the year and realized I passed 1,000 chimney sweeps back in November. I never thought to count before, but I had this old notebook where I jot down each job. Seeing that number on paper kind of hit me different. That's a lot of creosote and soot, you know? It made me think about how many people I've actually helped keep safe over the years. Has anyone else here ever tracked their total count and been surprised by the number?

Used to think tracking stuff like that was pointless busywork but you just changed my mind. There's something to be said for seeing the actual weight of what you've done over time. Probably skipped over a lot of the routine ones because they blur together, but the nasty jobs stick in my head. Might start keeping my own log just to see how it adds up at the end of the year.

@parkerbrown Honestly I see it the other way. Logging everything just turns work into a CHORE instead of actually being present for the nasty stuff. Those rough jobs stick with me way more when I don't write them down.
